Outrageous Boat: the Reaction Engine

In the previous post about this project, I talked about attaching the dragon's head to the bow of the boat (remember, I will talk about the project itself later). This time, I will talk about attaching a reaction engine to the stern of the boat.

I used another project of mine as the reaction engine. But I had to modify it a little, mainly in terms of adding fasteners to it. First of all, these are three parts “6315887: HOLDER Ø3.2 W/TUBE Ø3.2 HOLE” and one part “6439046: STICK Ø 3.2 W/ HOLDER.” Surprisingly, the engine holds up pretty well with just these. However, for reliability, I added two fasteners on top, mainly using part “6311445: CHAIN 6 M.” With these, the engine mount even passes a stress test! (I'll show you later.)

The mating part of the engine mount is attached to the stern of the boat. Its central idea is to use parts “6173124: DOUBLE Ø4.85 HOLE W.Ø3.2 SHAFT” because of the combination of Technic™ holes and a System bar in them. By the way, it was not so easy to find them in the right quantity, but fortunately, sets such as “31135 Vintage Motorcycle” and “60405 Emergency Rescue Helicopter” came to the rescue. The second important technique was the use of a hole for a System bar in the stern of the boat. Thanks to this, it was possible to firmly fix the fasteners on the boat.
