Outrageous Boat: the Dragon Head (Improvements)

The model of a outrageous boat built using LEGO® pieces.

Compared to the previous version, I made a number of improvements:

  • filled in the dragon's mouth (it looked empty before)
  • replaced parts with unsuitable colors (they stood out where they shouldn't have)
  • chose a color scheme for the subassembly that holds the lower jaw

I filled the mouth with part "6433578: WHEEL BALL, DIA. 19, NO. 1" (a stunningly beautiful part; I took it from the "71802 Nya's Rising Dragon Strike" set), which is held by parts "6510188: HANDLE, NO. 1" and "6245306: PARABOLIC ELEMENT Ø16" (thanks to their transparency, it seems that the part "6433578: WHEEL BALL, DIA. 19, NO. 1" is held by itself; I took them from the sets "75575 Ilu Discovery" and "43223 Asha in the City of Rosas," respectively).

I replaced part "6327561: LEVER 1X4, WITHOUT NOTCH" with the same part in white. It turned out to be not so easy to find - it is very rare. And what luck that there is a polybag "30682 NASA Mars Rover Perseverance," which contains as many as 6 such parts! It also has a white part "6346389: TECHNIC CROSS BLOCK, FORK 2X2," which I was thinking of replacing the used black version with. But then I decided to leave it as it is — the base to which the lower jaw is attached will also be black in the final version.

I couldn't decide on a color scheme for the subassembly for a long time. I found all the parts in two colors — black and red — and spent a long time combining them. But since I could only assemble one specific version at a time, the process was not very clear. Then I assembled all the options in a 3D editor at the same time, placed them next to each other, and this significantly sped up the selection process!
