Display Case for Minifigures, v3-beta

The display case for LEGO® minifigures built using LEGO® pieces.

I do not collect LEGO® minifigures, just collect them. Anyway, I need a display case. This is my version.

After experimenting with the previous two versions ("Display Case for Minifigures, v3-alpha" and "Display Case for Minifigures, v3-alpha.1"), it was time to build the whole structure and see how my ideas would play out in practice.

Since the three floors required a lot of uniform parts, I couldn't find them in my collection or in the sets available for purchase (too expensive). And I wanted to finally keep the construction in uniform colors. So for the first time I ordered individual parts from specialized stores.

The result was even more robust than I expected. In particular, I thought that the center would sag because it has no support from below. However, this does not happen even when pressed.

On the other hand, there are some drawbacks:

  • the corners of the design do sag;
  • it's not convenient to put the design on the shelf because there are only four support points at the bottom, which are also located at the edges - the design can fall down if only one support goes over the edge of the shelf;
  • the lid of the design is too weakly attached and can easily come off if pulled.

Also note that the parts "4194010: ROUND BRICK 2X2X2" are still used in different colors - they are so rare that even in specialty stores they are hard to find.
